A Frisco Women Interview with Ayesha Iftikhar: Owner of AIDesigns

I've always been fascinated by the impact of great design and packaging. With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Arts, my journey led me through advertising and branding roles in various companies. Along the way, I realized that branding isn’t limited to businesses—each person has their own brand persona. The way you dress, the colors you choose, and even the tone of your voice all reflect your personal brand identity, much like a company's presence.
As an immigrant from Pakistan, I knew from the start that I would need to work hard to get my brand recognized. This passion and determination inspired me to launch my own branding and design agency, where I help others shape and elevate their unique identity.

It’s actually a fun story! I came across Bharvi Soni's page for Expressive Aromas and thought the concept of custom perfumes was super cute. A few hours later, I was at my kids' swim class and noticed the woman in front of me designing a social graphic on her phone. My designer brain couldn't help but be intrigued by what she was doing. To my surprise, it was the same page I had been looking at earlier! I asked if it was hers, and the rest is history. She invited me to a Frisco Women event at her house, and from the moment I stepped in, everything just clicked. One connection led to another, and it all felt so natural—so welcoming. I instantly blended into the community.

AIDesigns is a branding and design agency I founded with the goal of helping small businesses and organizations connect with their target audience in a meaningful way. What sets us apart is our focus on reflecting the essence of a brand in its marketing, so that the message comes through clearly without the owner needing to explain it.
I noticed that traditional advertising agencies charge a fortune for brand identity work, which many small businesses simply can’t afford at an early stage. But they still need a polished, professional look to compete in the marketplace. So, I created affordable packages that allow businesses to visually tell their story through a step-by-step branding process, instead of doing everything at once.
At AIDesigns, we start with a discovery call to understand where the business stands and what challenges they face. From there, I create a customized plan, whether they need to build their online presence, enhance their website, improve social media, or refine print materials. We break down the process step-by-step, yet always aim for a cohesive and polished brand look throughout. One obstacle I faced at AIDesigns was helping a small business with a scattered brand presence. Their logo, fonts, and colors varied across platforms, confusing their audience. With a limited budget, I broke the process into manageable steps, starting with their core values and gradually unifying their brand. By the end, their consistent look boosted recognition and customer engagement, proving that even with constraints, a strong brand presence can make a big impact.

Do you have any advice for our readers?
When I was new to my entrepreneurial journey starting AIDesigns, I came across a quote that really stuck with me: "People who are successful in business aren't better than you at what they do—they just didn’t give up." If I had read this at another time, it might not have resonated as much, but at that point in my life, it hit home. Starting a business is NOT easy—it comes with countless challenges, and it’s tempting to give up and return to a steady 8-5 job with a regular paycheck.
My advice to anyone reading this is to keep going. All of your hard work will pay off in one way or another, eventually. Persistence is key!
Now just for fun, what are your local favorites? We always like knowing about people’s favorite restaurants, dishes, drinks, etc!
Here are a few of my local favorites! I love J Theodore for a patio lunch, and their red velvet and carrot cake are hands down the best desserts in town. Edoko is my go-to for the best sushi, and Capital Grille is perfect for celebration dinners. For something more casual, I enjoy Spitz with its fun fusion menu, and I also like Aussie Grind and Didi's Downtown for a laid-back vibe.
Do you know of any best kept secrets ? Something you wish more people knew about?
One of the best-kept secrets I wish more people knew about is True Food. They have the cleanest menu I’ve ever seen, packed with wholesome ingredients. After a meal there, you feel full and satisfied but in a healthy way, all while enjoying delicious flavors! It’s the perfect balance of nutritious and tasty.
